A Lifestyle Newborn Shoot in Canby, OR
Oh man, get ready for some Grade A cuteness with this blog post! I first met Lexi, the mother to this sweet newborn through an engagement session giveaway contest. Lexi and her fiancee Stephen had such a sweet story that they stole my heart and I couldn’t wait to offer them an adventure engagement session! At the time she was just a few months pregnant, but with the craziness of Covid-19 and a few things in her life turning upside down, we decided to wait until after Addi was born to do her engagement shoot, so stay tuned for that one later on!
Addilynn was born on Sunday, May 31st and is just the sweetest little girl you’ve ever seen! When I arrived at Lexi and Stephen’s gorgeous home I was greeted by their two dogs, Bo and Tequila who were pretty excited for a new visitor! Lexi showed me to Addi’s nursery which was perfect for a natural light lifestyle newborn shoot with its gorgeous white, uncluttered walls and a big window that was letting in the sun of the 80-degree day outside.
Lexi was so sweet and told me she’d read my newborn photo session prep blog post about three times making sure she had ticked all the boxes of suggested things to do to make the shoot go smoothly. The room was nice and warm from the hot day outside and Addi was ready for her snack as soon as I arrived.
Lexi and I chatted as we switched between mini-photo shoots while Addi slept, and feeding/bouncing/burping sessions when she got grumpy with me moving her too much. Lexi and Stephen have a great system where after Lexi nurses Addilynn Stephen takes over for some daddy-daughter swings and bounces which put her right to sleep. Lexi told me Stephen has been absolutely invaluable in these last few weeks, making sure she gets enough rest and stepping in whenever he can to cuddle and sooth Addi. Lexi and Stephen both laughed and joked about him having the special touch and how much of a daddy’s girl Addilynn already is!
