Even in a “normal” world, finding the love of your life isn’t always easy.  Dating can at times be a tedious and emotional task, frought with ups and downs and plenty of emotional curve balls.  Take that already challenging task and add in a pandemic and world-wide shut down and you’ve got what many would believe is an impossibility.

Well… Lindsay and Nathan defied the impossible and found a life-long love that came together to be celebrated and made official by their beautiful wedding this last Friday!

What was the magical moment behind Lindsay and Nathan’s unlikely meeting? A simple haircut. Lindsay is a talented hair stylist and after months of shutdowns, Nathan needed her services desperately. During his vows Nathan joked that it was the best haircut he’s ever had in his entire life and was ultimately the beginning of this sweet love story that led us to their stunning wedding at The Foundry at Oswego Pointe

The morning of their wedding, Lindsay and her bridal party were enjoying mimosas and music at The Residence Inn at Lake Oswego. When I arrived, Lindsay was just getting her hair started and her lovely mother was kind enough to point out where I could find her jewelry, shoes, rings and invitations.

Slipping outside to photograph these details, I had to admire Lindsay’s engagement ring and stunning diamond inlaid wedding band.

After the detail photos were wrapped up, I enjoyed hanging out with the girls, snapping candids as they filmed a tick tok video and ran around collecting things to bring over to The Foundry.

Once Lindsay’s hair and makeup was complete we took a few minutes to photograph everyone in their gorgeous sage-green robes just before Lindsay slipped into her dress.

For her wedding dress, Lindsay had selected a form-fitting gown with intricate lace details and a plunging neck line that added a level of sophistication to polish off her stunning look. Her dress also had the most beautiful lace train which when all laid out was an absolute show-stopper!

After slipping into the dress, we all headed over to The Foundry where Lexi from Your Perfect Bridesmaids was hard at work putting together the Reception and Ceremony Space.

The Foundry is one of those rare venues who offers a reception space completely surrounded with windows, letting in the most gorgeous light that makes my natural-light photographer’s heart sing!

The weather on Lindsay and Nathan’s wedding day was also the MOST perfect so their ceremony was able to be held on the gorgeous dock that juts out over the water.

I met up with Dom and we arrived at The Foundry as Nathan and his groomsmen were starting to arrive. I made sure Dom had Nathan tucked away as I went outside for portraits with Lindsay and her girls.  The day was running perfectly on schedule so we even had time to snap a few adorable photos with one of the flower girls and the ring bearer!

After tucking the girls away, Dom took Nathan and his brothers out for their portraits and Lexi put the final touches on the beautiful florals from Songbird Floristry framing the ceremony space.

As guests filled the chairs and enjoyed the sun which was falling softly down through the tall Poplar trees lining the edge of the water, Lindsay and Nathan’s DJ, Chad from Chad Dowling Productions cued up soft orchestral music and the wedding processional began.

As family made their way down the aisle the anticipation built up and you could see the rise of emotion begin to play across Nathan’s face.

After the flower girls and ring bearer completed the sweetest little walk down the aisle to their parents, everyone rose and Lindsay rounded the corner, arm in arm with her proud father.

I could see Nathan’s jaw tighten as he fought back the emotions of this moment, and Lindsay in return was all joyful smiles and misty eyes.

Lindsay and Nathan’s officiant was Lindsay’s uncle and even he got choked up while starting the ceremony, inviting everyone to be seated as he began with a story about marriage and love.

The ceremony was touching and absolutely perfect.  Punctuated by personal vows that brought everyone to tears, Lindsay and Nathan stood, hand in hand embracing their union and the beautiful life they had ahead of them.  Sealing the ceremony with a kiss, they beamed as they made their way back down the aisle and were joined by the celebratory hugs and cheers of their wedding party.

After the marriage license was signed we snapped family photos on the dock and then stole a half an hour to trek all over the beautiful grounds of The Foundry and adjoining park, chasing that ethereal golden hour light and capturing stunning bridal portraits of the newlyweds.

Lexi gathered the wedding party together as guests made the transition from cocktail hour to their reception tables and Chad announced their grand entrance, kicking off a delicious dinner from Pearl Catering and the party portion of this beautiful day by swinging right into their first dance as a married couple.

Toasts were given that were heartfelt and sweet and Lindsay and Nathan shared dances with their parents.

The atmosphere of the reception was one of total joy as guests continued to fill the dance floor (and I do mean fill, at one point literally every single person was dancing - I’ve never seen that before!).

Lindsay and Nathan paused the dancing to cut their stunning cake from Laurie Clarke Cakes, bouquet and garter toss and Lindsay and her bridesmaids had an epic choreographed dance they performed amid cheers from the approving audience.

The night was magical and filled to the brim with the emotion and happiness accompanying the joining together of these two beautiful people.
