Hannah + Riley

A Summer Ceremony at
Postlewait’s Country Weddings

Dom and I had been looking forward to Hannah and Riley’s gorgeous wedding since I spent time with these two and their adorable pup Lucy on the banks of the Columbia River for their engagement session!

Hannah has the most gorgeous smile and her enthusiasm during her wedding planning has been nothing short of contagious!

For her getting-ready space, Hannah’s mom rented out one of the most ideal Air B+Bs I’ve ever been to. It had white walls, tons of windows, and the cutest architecture to boot!

I loved gathering all of Hannah’s gorgeous details together and styling her lay-flat as everyone ate a small bite and then all the girls were rounded up for our Robe Photos.

It was important to Hannah to share the moment when she slipped into her dress just with her mom, but moments before it was just the two of them Hannah showed off the little heart stitched to the inside of her dress which was sourced from a shirt of her late grandfather’s. “I wanted him to be with me as I walked down the aisle,” Hannah said, bringing tears to my eyes.

Once the bridesmaids cleared the main suite, Hannah’s mom helped her into her gown. Hannah’s wedding dress had a gorgeous pale pink champaign undertone to it and was decorated with layers of delicate lacy embellishments. Complete with a sweetheart neckline and drooping sleeves, Hannah looked like the cover of a magazine in her romantic bridal look!

Hannah was eager to join her bridesmaids, so as she exited the master suite into the sight of them she was met with applause, tears, and of course a whole chorus of “oohs” and “aahs!”

After the first look, we packed everyone up and took the short drive to Postlewait’s Country Weddings where Riley waited to share his own first look with his gorgeous bride.

This moment was especially emotional and had both Riley and Hannah in tears as they embraced after seeing one another for the first time.

After portraits with the wedding party, Hannah arranged a First Look with her extended family as well, which was unique and fun to see everyone’s reactions! We moved through family portraits and then Hannah was tucked away as the rest of the guests arrived and headed out to the ceremony spot under the shade of the tall trees.

Riley and Hannah’s ceremony was beautiful and not only sealed with a first kiss but also with a second kiss that was poised just halfway down the aisle and blessed with a cascade of rose petals tossed from their guests.

After the ceremony, everyone enjoyed drinks and appetizers in the shade out on the main greenway before retreating to the Barn-Style Reception Hall where toasts, first dances, and cake cutting were held.

Riley and Hannah wanted to share personal vows privately, so when Dom and I stole them away for sunset photos the couple took the opportunity to read one another their promises of love for all eternity.

The evening was capped off with dancing by starlight, the setting off of Hannah’s grandfather’s custom-made celebratory canon, and a sparkler exit where Hannah and Riley were whisked away in a limo!

The day was one for the record books and I’m so thrilled I was able to be a part of it!
