Kennith + Jazlyn

Salem Engagement Kate's Favorites-14.jpg

One of my favorite things about being a wedding photographer is that it brings the most incredible people into your life that you otherwise might never have had the chance to meet. Jazlyn and Kennith are such a couple and being a part of their wedding journey thus far has made me so happy and appreciative that I get to do this “job” that I love!

Jazlyn and Kennith live in Salem, but they are planning an incredible wedding in Camp Colton next fall. For their engagement shoot I headed down to Salem and we met up in this adorable little park tucked away just outside the city center where Kennith took Jazlyn to on her first ride on the back of his motorcycle. In addition to having an amazing motorcycle, Kennith also had a beautiful corvette as his main ride and showed me photos of it while we were chatting and getting to know one another. Ever since I was a little girl and went to the drag races with my dad and saw the most beautiful purple corvette win a race, corvettes have always held a special place in my heart so Kennith and I were off to a fast friendship from the start!

Jazlyn is a creative artist and boasts skills as diverse as poetry to watercolor and is still considering just how much of her DIY skills she will incorporate into the decor and entertainment on their wedding day.

Jazlyn and Kennith are also animal lovers and kept me laughing nonstop with silly tales of the shenanigans their fur babies get up to. Their husky Mica for example has the most hilarious way of laying down where both her back legs splay out in opposite directions and she ends up looking like a fuzzy helicopter!

As we enjoyed strolling around the park I got to learn a bit more about Kennith and Jazlyn’s life. Jazlyn is actually Kennith’s first girlfriend so lucky him, he has managed to avoid all the heartache that most of us have to go through before we find our forever person! Kennith also has the most amazing background with this really cool alternative high school where things like horseback riding and archery were in the curriculum!

For sunset we headed over the the beautiful foot bridge at the Salem waterfront where despite some foul-mouthed teenagers shouting obscenities at tourists, Jazlyn and Kennith still managed to snuggle up and allow me to get some really beautiful and romantic portraits of the two of them in the last golden hues of the winter light.

I can’t wait for these guy’s wedding this next fall, drop them some love in the comments below!
