An Intimate Seaside Wedding

When Sheri contacted me about her gorgeous intimate Seaside wedding in August, I was so excited at the chance to document her and Drew’s union! Drew has so many family heritage ties to Seaside, I knew it was going to be an emotional and moving wedding day, and boy was I right!

I arrived at a beach house that Drew and his family had rented and got to meet his lovely parents and siblings. Drew’s father told me that in fact they used to own this exact beach house and he pointed out the land adjacent to it where he used to keep Morgan Horses grazing. Sheri pointed out the door jam which, although it had been varnished over, still had the faint etchings of height markings of Drew and his siblings from their childhood.

Sheri also has a love for heritage, and she had taken a Cameo from her great-great grandmother and had it made into a beautiful pendant for her wedding day jewelry.

After snapping a few detail photos of Sheri’s gorgeous dress and shoes we headed over to a local church where Drew’s parents had celebrated their anniversary years back by an intimate vow renewal.

Drew and Sheri’s ceremony was touching and lovely, complete with a celebration of eucharist and a moving blessing on the newlyweds.

After the ceremony, we headed over to another beach house owned by family friends. The gardens had tables set with azure blue table cloths and adorned with vibrant floral centerpieces which gave the neutral tones of the adorable beach house a little extra pop!

While Sheri and Drew enjoyed time with family and friends, Sheri’s cake arrived and man, what a stunning cake it was! It absolutely stole the show and it’s gorgeous buttercream frosting was also draped with the same vibrant florals as the tables.

After a delicious taco bar was served we snapped a few family portraits on the porch and it was incredible to see all the family who had traveled from so far finally together.

Sheri and Drew cut their gorgeous cake and Sheri was kind enough to take charge of cutting every guest a delicious piece before ever taking a slice for herself.

As the evening drew to a close, Drew, Sheri and I drove out to a hidden beach path that brought up through the tall grass to a bench with a plaque on it dedicated to Drew’s family who had passed on.

It had been a rather wet cloudy day all day, but as soon as we got to the bench the rain cleared up and the sun poked out from behind the clouds. We were able to spend a few minutes capturing some epic sunset portraits of these two and cap off their delightful wedding day in the best way possible!

Check out some of the images captured on their beautiful wedding day below, and be sure to leave a comment for Drew and Sheri in the comments section below the photos!
