Amanda + Pat

A stunning wedding at Rossi Farms in Portland, OR

Early Spring weddings in the Pacific Northwest are always a bit of a gamble when it comes to the weather, but Amanda and Pat’s stunning wedding at Rossi Farms on Sunday, April 16th ended up being absolutely perfect!

The venue itself it stunning, with a picturesque outdoor setting surrounded by custom rustic town storefronts and a sprawling field that was just starting to bloom with spring daffodils. The couple was surrounded by their closest family and friends, including Pat's 8-year-old son, Logan, who was excited to be a part of the special day. Even though the forecast had called for 90-100% chance of rain (and yes, it definitely did POUR down in spurts) Amanda and Pat were blessed with breaks in the weather and the gorgeous spring sun even decided to sneak out from behind the clouds during their portraits!

To set the scene for this incredible day, it’s necessary to know a little bit about Amanda, Pat and Logan and just how amazing they are!

As a family, Amanda, Pat, and Logan have taken up Taikwando, a martial art that they all enjoy and participate in together. Pat, a former black belt, loves hiking and backpacking, and Amanda is also an adventurous spirit who enjoys the outdoors. The couple had been around each other's friend group for 16 years but never met in person until December 2020 when they started playing Dungeons and Dragons online with friends over the pandemic. It was in April of the following year, after enjoying a long walk along the beach in Seattle, that they realized they were perfect for each other and they got engaged in the early fall of 2022.

As the wedding day approached, Amanda was excited to share her and Pat’s love of music with their friends and family. Amanda had been a violinist in the past and Pat’s dear friend (and officiant) got his band together to provide incredible entertainment for their wedding day. Amanda wore a stunning lace gown with a train that flowed gracefully behind her, complete with a bespoke veil framing the soft curls of her bridal look. Being in her “getting ready” cottage on the morning of their wedding, seeing her surrounded by family and friends that were grinning ear to ear and bursting with happiness solidified in my mind why I am so passionate about weddings!

As the ceremony time drew near, Amanda and Pat’s friends and family gathered in the Barn of Rossi Farms and the processional began. It was a beautiful moment as Amanda walked towards Pat, hand in hand with Logan as Pat looked at her with eyes filled with love and admiration.

The ceremony was filled with laughter, tears, and heartfelt vows. Pat and Amanda exchanged rings and shared a kiss as they were pronounced husband and wife. The reception celebrated love, family, and adventure and had unique elements, decor, games, and activities that reflected the couple's fun-loving spirit.

Pat and Amanda’s wedding day featured two cakes, one a towering classic topped with a D + D dice showing, of course, the perfect roll of 20, and another custom cake that displayed a lush adventure scene and was topped with custom figurines depicting Pat and Amanda’s D+D characters from their first quest together. Their card box was also custom-made featuring a treasure chest character complete with a lolling tongue and fangs!

After a scrumptious Bar-B-Que meal was served, touching and emotional toasts were made that brought both moments of tears and laughter from everyone present. Amanda and Pat shared a choreographed first dance that ended in an epic dip and also shared a family dance, switching partners between Amanda’s Mom, Pat’s Mother and Father and Logan.

Sneaking out for the last bit of golden light, Amanda braved a chilly evening wind to escape for Bridal Portraits in the flower fields of Rossi Farms and as they danced and laughed in the shade of the barn, I couldn’t have been happier for these two incredible people.

As the night drew to a close, Amanda and Pat left the venue as a married couple, ready to embark on their next adventure together. They were grateful for the love and support of their friends and family, and excited for the future that lay ahead!
