An Adventure Engagement Session in Sedona, AZ
at Merry Go Round Rock
From 4X4’ing up a long bumpy road, to hiking in Stilettos, Alicia and Mike were ready and willing to do it all!
Dom and I flew out to Arizona last week for a variety of events, including Alicia and Mike’s engagement shoot! Even though we’d never been to Merry Go Round Rock, it turned out to be better than we could have dreamed! I’d seen some images shot by other photographers from this spot, but nothing could have prepared me for the breathtaking beauty that met us all at the top! The red rocks spires and the rings of green trees looked like something straight out of Disneyland! The weather was phenomenal, the views were unprecedented, and the Sedona Valley is one of the most beautiful places I’d ever shot an engagement!
Along with the incredible sights, Alicia and Mike made for some incredible company! While getting to know them we found out that Alicia is a Civil Engineer and Mike is CPA! Alicia told us about her growing up years, how she had sisters who loved to teach her about fashion and posing, something that came in handy in front of the camera! We also got to hear about her childhood dream wedding; somewhere out in the wild, surrounded by nature! Mike shared with us some potentially exciting news about a new job opportunity that he’s pursuing! Mike specialized as a CPA in the hospitality zone, but recently he’s been provided a chance to pursue his dream of specializing in sports! This would include a move to Colorado, Mike’s home state. While the position isn’t official yet, both Mike and Alicia are excited for the future that awaits them, in Colorado. Mike’s been holding his nose to the grindstone and working hard so that he might be able to achieve a job in his dream field, while creating more time for a balanced work and home life; so, to be on the precipice of this new change is very exciting for them both! While Alicia was initially hesitant to leave Phoenix, the state she loves, after a recent trip with Mike to Colorado she realized how amazing of a state it is and she’s now fully onboard with the move!
These two are truly an incredible pair. They love each other so much and it shows through the camera! It was a huge honor and a ton of fun getting to shoot their engagement in such a beautiful location! At the current moment, Mike and Alicia haven’t set a date for their wedding, but when they do, it will be a day to remember!
