Bekah + Spencer

An Autumn Engagement Session at Hoyt Arboretum

Talk about a couple who are after my heart! Spencer and Bekah are not only just the sweetest people you will ever meet, they also share an extra quality that I value EXTREMELY highly and that is… A love for Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter AND Star Wars! Yup, the ultimate trifecta! When you can truly love all three, I feel you’ve reached a higher echelon of inner peace!

Hahah, no but in all seriousness, Spencer and Bekah are just an amazing couple. They met in College, and Bekah was actually the first one to “make a move,” nervously approaching Spencer to ask him to be her plus-one to a wedding she’d been invited to. Her nerves were soon extinguished however when instantly the sparks flew and Spencer and she ended up just talking for over three hours!

After that, it was game over and Bekah and Spencer easily transitioned into a relationship after just a few dates together. Spencer remarked how much he appreciated how funny Bekah was and of course how stunning of a person she is, inside and out.

Bekah and Spencer are currently finishing up school in Utah at BYU and flew up to Oregon just for their engagement session. Bekah choose the perfect fall outfits for she and Spencer and Hoyt Arboretum didn’t disappoint with it’s autumn colors on full blast the weekend of their e-session.

We met up at the visitor’s center and then took my jeep down to the back side of Hoyt to adventure around on the paved pathways that were carpeted in the golden leaves of the deciduous trees overhead.

Spencer and Bekah are the kind of couple who are not only naturals in front of the camera, but also have this spark of charisma that makes them a joy to photograph.

We had a ton of fun walking all over and chatting about their wedding plans and their work load at school.

Bekah is in business management and already has a job awaiting her in Albany after she graduated. Spencer will continue onto grad school online so that he can move to Oregon with her and not have to suffer through a long-distance marriage.

We chatted about finding a place in Salem and how it will be nice for Bekah to be close to her family again. Spencer actually grew up in my hometown of Spokane, WA so his family will be traveling to Oregon for their wedding next May.

After a quick change to more formal attire, we explored the hill top of Hoyt where you could really see how the colors were changing across the valley.

We wrapped up the photo session and Bekah and Spencer were going to go to one of my favorite lunch spots, Lardo for their famous Parmesan fries and delicious sandwiches before heading back to Utah.

I can’t wait to keep planning for Bekah and Spencer’s wedding and am really looking forward to their bridal portrait session at the stunning Abernethy Center next spring!
