A Romantic Bridal Session in Portland, OR

Oh man how I love this incredible couple!

Nu first contacted me about photographing her and Eddie’s Bridal session after a difficult time trying to balance planning a wedding while the world was experiencing a global pandemic.

Wedding planning at any time is stressful, but in 2020 and 2021 that stress just took a leap up into the stratosphere, so when Nu contacted me for some help and guidance to plan an epic Bridal Shoot, I was so very excited to help design and plan an epic session!

Nu and Eddie met online, and even though Eddie lived hours away from Nu, there was just something special about her that made him willing to take the leap to drive all the way to her and meet face to face for their first date.

I teased him asking if he thought he might be “catfished” and he laughed, saying it’s true, the way he and Nu clicked online it felt almost too good to be true! However, their first date was magical and Eddie was just as drawn to her in person as he was when they’d connected from afar.

Nu’s face lights up any time she speaks about Eddie, and her smile was absolutely radiant as she recalled their relationship developing after those first few dates to the day that Eddie proposed.

For their bridal session, we’d planned one part to be at an indoor studio and one part to be at the stunning Frank Manor House at Lewis and Clark College. I asked Ashley, owner of Style Me PDX and one of the most talented hair and makeup artists in Portland to fit Nu into her busy schedule so the morning was spent styling Nu’s gorgeous black hair in a sleek updo with a sparkling hairpiece and using natural-styled makeup to enhance her stunning features.

I asked Cory from Milwaukie Floral to have her Lead Wedding Floral Designer Abby to create a stunning, yet delicate bouquet for Nu in soft neutral shades of blush and cream and boy did they deliver! I picked up Nu’s incredible bouquet on my way to the studio and met up with she and Eddie to begin our session!

The weather had been cloudy and rainy, but inside the natural light of Studio Northwest lit Nu’s first bridal look perfectly and as Eddie turned to see her for the first time his joyful smile lit up his handsome face.

We had a lot of fun playing around with the different props at the Studio and Nu and Eddie did three different outfit changes while the rain softly pattered against the large windows.

Finishing up in an adorable knee-length dress while Eddie sported a killer blue suit, we quickly cleaned up the studio and headed out toward Lewis and Clarke College.

The rain was still sprinkling down, so we utilized my large clear umbrellas for the first fifteen minutes of our outdoor shoot and suddenly the rain dried up and we were able to spend the rest of our time rain-free until the last 5 minutes!

It was so wonderful to celebrate these two incredible people and I couldn’t be more pleased that I was a part of this part of their wedding story.

Before we took our leave of each other, Nu confided in me that she’d been looking forward to taking Bridal Portraits her entire life and that this session and this day meant the world to her. It melted my heart and made me fall in love with her and Eddie all over again!
