Annie + Adam

An Engagement Session in Sisters, OR.

If you’ve been following along on this blog or on my social media for a bit you know how much Dom and I just LOVE central Oregon. Dom and I are constantly finding reasons to explore around Bend, Sisters and the stunning mountains, lakes, rivers that create opportunity for adventure around every corner.

When we met Annie and Adam at the wedding of a recent Kate Holt Photography Couple’s wedding you can imagine my excitement when they told us that they were planning their wedding in Sister’s Oregon and showed me photos of the incredible private estate where they would have both their reception and ceremony.

Chatting with Annie and Adam later over video chat I also fell in love with their laid-back personalities and their love story.

Annie and Adam met via mutual friends while in college at OSU and while on a beach trip to Newport the sparks flew as Annie was struck by how cute Adam was. The evening didn’t offer much opportunity to really get to know each other on a one on one basis, but Adam and Annie’s adorable Golden Retriever Samwise ended the trip best friends after bonding over many, many, many tennis ball tosses.

It wasn’t until weeks later, when Adam recognized Samwise in a photo with Annie that he reached out to her to attend their first date. After bonding over a shared love of craft beer they decided to catch a movie back at Annie’s apartment. Annie’s cat Pippin (getting the theme of Annie’s pet names yet? As a Lord of the Rings fan myself, this is just one more reason to fall in love with this amazing couple) ended up “choosing” the movie by knocking down Annie’s copy of “The Princess Bride” and watching that classic has now become a yearly tradition for Annie and Adam!

Currently, Annie and Adam live in Colorado and love enjoying the beauty of Colorado through hiking, camping, and trying their hand at rock climbing.

For their engagement session, Annie and Adam had driven from Colorado to Oregon to deliver a new pup Annie had found for her parents while visiting for Thanksgiving.

Annie and I had tossed around various ideas of locations for her and Adam’s engagement session and finally landed on this stunning Nature Park with views of the Sisters and Mount Adams in the distance.

We walked around her parent’s estate making plans for the layout of their wedding day and then hopped in my Mini Cooper to drive out to the field.

We started the session with Annie and Adam’s beloved Samwise who was just a hoot and never stopped smiling while around his favorite people!

Annie’s mom collected dear Sam back up in her car and drove him home while Annie, Adam and I adventured out further in the field stopping between swapping stories to photograph with the stunning mountains shining in the the distance.

One of my favorite stories I learned about Annie and Adam is that while they were still dating , they stumbled across an episode of “Bob Ross” on Netflix and enjoyed watching it together. Annie then went out and purchased easels, brushes, paints, canvasses and everything they would need to make a full date night out of Bob Ross episodes!

As someone who remembers seeing Bob Ross recorded VHS tapes (Yup, I’m that old!) in my grandparent’s house and watching them with my cousins, learning that Annie and Adam make time for each other and created these little date nights out of Bob Ross episodes just makes my heart sing!

Annie’s dad is also a master brewer and started Crux Brewery in Bend, so Annie and Adam also brought along a few cans of some delicious IPAs to toast to their engagement at the end of our session.

It was an absolutely stunning day to spend with an incredible couple and I just can’t wait to be a part of their wedding next year!

Enjoy this selection of images from Annie and Adam’s engagement session and leave a comment of congratulations for them in the comments below!
