Jazlyn + Kenneth
I’ve been looking forward to Jazlyn and Kenneth’s amazing halloween wedding for quite a while now and I was just so excited when their incredible wedding day arrived! Not only was their wedding on my FAVORITE holiday of the year, but it also was at a venue that I hadn’t been to before, but had heard amazing things about!
Jazlyn and Kenneth’s wedding day arrived with the most gorgeous weather you could ask for and as Dom and I arrived at Camp Colton, I was immediately in love with this gorgeous wedding venue!
Camp Colton is a venue which isn’t on everyone’s radar. Jazlyn admitted she herself even had to use some of her professional research skills to find it, but immediately fell in love with its forrest vibe and acres of tucked away spaces, perfect for the intimate wedding she and Kenneth were planning.
Jazlyn is an artist, and every part of their wedding had her DIY artistic touch to it. She personally designed and built their stunning wedding arch, as well as floral wall pieces.
Choosing one of the more remote ceremony spaces for their wedding, when Dom and I arrived, Jazlyn’s family were busy setting everything up while Jazlyn’s sister was helping Jazlyn with her hair and makeup in the newly remodeled bridal suite.
As Dom and I walked around Camp Colton’s spacious property, we picked out several stunning spots for Jazlyn and Kenneth’s first look and bridal portraits.
Kenneth was busy setting up one of the most epic Hot Coco Stations I’ve ever seen at a wedding while Dom took some detail photos of Jazlyn and Ken’s ballroom shoes and some touching personal gifts Jazlyn had for her family.
As Jazlyn’s bridal look came together, Dom and Kenneth went out into the forrest to await the much anticipated first look moment while Jazlyn and I collected her gorgeous wedding bouquet which included Lillys of the deepest shade of burgundy to compliment Jazlyn’s autumn wedding colors.
As Jazlyn approached Ken for the first look and called his name, he turned and you could see the happiness in his eyes as he saw his bride for the first time. Jazlyn was an absolute vision in her wedding dress which had delicate lace details all over. Her long, thick hair was braided in the back in loops, and her head was set with a gorgeous headpiece that was hand-made.
After their first look, Dom and I took Jazlyn and Ken around for an assortment of locations for their bridal portraits which included a spot where Dom had to translate for me as I hid across one of the noisy creeks to find the perfect angle for a bridge shot.
After the portraits, Jazlyn’s mom escorted her down the long pathway to the little forrest glade set with the wedding arch and surrounded with Jazlyn and Kenneth’s friends and family.
Kenneth and Jazlyn’s wedding ceremony was officiated by a family member and included a water ceremony before the exchange of rings.
Jazlyn and Kenneth shared vows and ended the ceremony with a first kiss amid cheers and applause from guests.
After the wedding ceremony, Dom and I took family formal portraits before guests retreated to the reception hall for custom made hot coco and were treated to an assortment of wines while dinner was served.
Jazlyn and Kenneth chose to dine separately from their guests and enjoyed a few minutes of solitude together before rejoining their guests for a sweet slideshow, dances and cake cutting.
As the evening drew to a close, I took my leave and headed back to Portland. Jazlyn and Kenneth were planning a honeymoon to Maui and by now should be relaxing on the beach!
