Rebekah and Spencer
Want to know a quick way into my heart? Plan an epic Bridal Session! When Rebekah and Spencer chose me as their wedding photographer I was over the moon excited! Not only are these two just a truly lovely couple and two of the kindest souls you’ll ever meet, but they also had a vision for some epic Bridal Portraits as part of their wedding celebration.
When I find a bride brave enough to trek all over our gorgeous state in her wedding gown in pursuit of some epic Bridal Portraits, I get pretty darn excited if you can’t tell! For Bekah and Spencer’s Bridals we pulled out all the stops and went to two of my all-time favorite spots in the Columbia River Gorge.
Rebekah and Spencer met while attending college at BUY and it wasn’t until right before their wedding day that they finished up with the last of their classes and could travel back to Oregon and really get into the wedding vibe!
Planning their Bridal Session this spring was, well, a little challenging to say the least. This spring has been one of the wettest and most unpredictable springs I’ve seen in Oregon for many years, and on the week leading up to their wedding we had exactly one day of what appeared to be a little break in the rain and even potentially some sun.
Luckily with a few phone calls and moving a few things around on our schedules we were able to take advantage of this window and while Spencer drove out to LaTourelle falls, I pulled up to Bekah’s parent’s house and we loaded her up into my Mini Cooper and zoomed off to the location we’d chosen for their First Look.
Finding a secluded spot tucked just off the path next to the falls, my assistant Noah and I placed Spencer while I ran up to walk Bekah down to the fall’s edge.
Rebekah and Spencer’s first look was such a sweet moment and both of them were grinning ear to ear as they took each other into a warm embrace. Spencer just kept saying to himself over and over “she’s so gorgeous!” and boy did he have it right!
In her silk white dress with her dark curls and stunning features, she really looked like she’s stepped right off the pages of a fairy tail!
We enjoyed taking our time shooting portraits at the falls while the heavy crash of spring-time water provided the soudtrack to the start of the evening.
After LaTourelle Falls, it was off to Government Cove where we found a surprisingly tranquil breeze and explored all over this little outcropping in search of the perfect evening glow.
Bekah and Spencer were up for anything and battled the little river-side bugs that are drawn to anything white, as well as navigated skillfully through some blackberry thorns in order to perch on the perfect stone that was encircled with star-shaped pearl-white blossoms.
We concluded the session on the top of the rock, with the expanse of the Columbia River Gorge extending out in all directions. As the wind curled Bekah’s stunning veil around she and Spencer and I was attempting to contain my giddiness at the images popping up on the back of my camera, we called it a day as the sun began to sink behind the hills.
Bekah and Spencer were officially married the following Saturday at a Sealing Ceremony in the Lake Oswego Temple. They were celebrated by Family and Friends who greeted them upon their exit as man and wife.
A reception was also held at The Abernethy Center that evening where Bekah and Spencer enjoyed cutting the cake, sharing a first dance as husband and wife, and family toasted to them in both words and traditional dance.
