*A Romantic Vow Renewal at Abernethy Center’s Veiled Garden*

Can I just say how much I love Abernethy Center? It’s just one of those venues which is practically perfect and has so many options for gorgeous photos. It’s no wonder it drew the attention of Emily and Robert when they planned their gorgeous Vow Renewal celebration in October 2021.

Emily and Robert have been together for 8 years and had been talking together about marriage for a while. Robert however still managed to surprise her in what he refers to as his “Hans Solo” proposal where he proposed to Emily and then the day after he had to jet off on a work trip.

Work has been a central part of Robert and Emily’s relationship as they both of their carriers are in marketing and met while attending trade shows for their work. Together, they’ve traveled all over the US, but they moved up to Oregon more recently and have built an incredible friend group here that has become more of a second family than just friends.

Through their travels together Robert and Emily both pursue adventures including getting caught in rainstorms in Houston, to a forced last-minute hotel stay after watching an epic firework display after a baseball game in a new city. They absolutely adore each other and throughout their amazing celebration you could absolutely feel the love and adoration in the air!

Together Robert and Emily have two dogs they adore, Shadow, a 9-year-old German Shepherd and Dexter, a crazy Chocolate Lab that just happens to be named after my personal favorite TV Series protagonist.

Although Dexter and Shadow didn’t end up making it to this celebration, they were at Robert and Emily’s original intimate backyard wedding celebration last summer.

As family and friends are such a huge part of Emily and Robert’s life, they really wanted to celebrate their union together with those they hold most dear, so this summer they planned a beautiful Vow Renewal at Abernethy Center’s Veiled Garden and Grand Ballroom.

Amid the lush green foliage that was just starting to tint toward autumn hues, Robert and Emily reaffirmed their love for each other with a sweet ceremony that not only brought them to tears but also their family and friends.

After the touching ceremony, Robert, Emily and their guests enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by the catering staff at Abernethy center, shared dances and listened to heart-felt toasts by family and friends.

It was an amazing evening to celebrate these two incredible people and I couldn’t be more pleased that I was a part of this part of their story.
