Kelsey + Andre
For Kelsey and Andre’s wedding they truly brought together the “dream team” of wedding professionals who helped them create an absolutely unforgettable wedding day!
Traveling from Seattle and planning a wedding in a city you don’t live in can be a challenge, but for Kelsey and Andre, it was a challenge they were certinaly up for, and one they absolutely crushed!
Arriving to the stunning Air B+B Kelsey had rented for her bridesmaids and her to share while prepping for the wedding day, my jaw hit the ground at how perfectly the pops of color and all the natural light filled the space, making it completly ideal for the light and airy images Kelsey fell in love with when she reached out to me to be her photographer.
To make things even more ideal, Kelsey had hired the team at Harestream to drive their epic mobile hair salon from Spokane, WA! This provided a perfect separate space for the beautification process and felt like a calm oasis outside the Air B + B.
After adding a striking red lip to polish off her wedding day look, Kelsey and her bridesmaids enjoyed some champagne while lounging in their matching floral PJs before slipping into their dresses.
Kelsey’s bridesmaids donned knee-length emerald dresses and Kelsey slipped into her classically lined, form-fitting gown while her mother and sister helped her on with her jewelry.
As I laid out the train of Kelsey’s dress to photograph it in the light of the window, Kelsey told me how she had taken her grandmother’s wedding dress from a navy trunk and chose to take the lace-covered buttons from her dress and add it to her own wedding gown. I’ve seen a few really clever ways to honor an heirloom matriarch dress, but this one is my favorite!
After everyone was fully dressed, we headed over to The Foundry at Lake Oswego Pointe where Andre and the boys were hiding upstairs so as the girls snuck into the bridal suite they wouldn’t be seen.
Kelsey’s custom buttons weren’t the only special and unique thing about their wedding day, Kelsey had planned a “first look” with her groomsmen with a very ‘Kelsey’ twist! In addition to having her groomsmen ready for their first look, she also had Andre present! Andre had to keep his back turned however, and when all the groomsmen turned around to see Kelsey, Andre had to listed to their hoots and cheers for how amazing she looked, building the anticipation of seeing his bride even more than it already was!
After the groomsmen shenanigans, Dom took Andre out and placed him for HIS first look while I followed shortly after with Kelsey.
Seeing Andre and Kelsey see each other for the first time was fantastic. Kelsey’s jaw hit the floor and I could swear Andre’s smile couldn’t physically get any bigger!
After chasing the shade during portraits, we let everyone escape into the cool of the main hall of the Foundry while I photographed the bright florals decorating the tables of the reception hall.
Guests filtered to their seats in the ceremony space and soon the ceremony was underway. Kelsey and Andre’s good friend officiated by giving a colorful history of this incredible couple before they exchanged emotional vows and sealed their marriage with an epic kiss!
The reception was filled with custom cocktail creations, incredibly scrumptious food served by Pearl Catering, and an epic dance party DJ’d by the very talented Justin of Paradox Productions.
Throughout the whole day, Kelsey and Andre could be seen, grinning from ear to ear and soaking in every moment of the incredible day they had planned.
