Halie + Kyler

A Spring Engagement Session at Lake Sacajawea, Longview WA.

Ready to meet two incredible people whose love story and life will melt your heart? Say hello to Haile and Kyler!

When I first met Haile over video chat, to be honest I was a little distracted by the level of cuteness that was occurring in the background as her foster kittens played and mewed behind her. It wasn’t long however, that Hailey’s life story quickly drew the limelight and I found myself completely enamored by her personality and story.

Haile is a self-made woman and fellow artist who decided to ditch the day job to pursue her dream of becoming a writer. Leaving an unfulfilling job and personal life in Seattle, she booked a country-wide Amtrak ticket and began her adventure! Venturing from state to state, gathering up stories from all the interesting people she met and places she visited, Haile returned home to dig into publishing her first book.

Kyler and Haile entered each other’s lives after meeting online, Hailey immediately interested by Kyler’s profile photo from a Comic-Con he had attended, and giving her a good feeling that the two of them would hit it off being fellow fantasy buffs.

Kyler works in IT in Longview, WA and it wasn’t long before he and Hailey found each other spending more and more time together, forming not only a romantic relationship, but a strong bond of love over shared coffees in the morning, a love of sushi and a bond over Kyler’s cat, Weasley.

When Kyler and Halie became engaged, Halie scoured the internet looking for a photographer that fit the light and airy style she had always envisioned for her wedding day. Growing up 5 minutes away from Portland’s stunning Empress Estate, choosing where to host their wedding was a no-brainer, as ever since Haile was a little girl she had envisioned coming down the Empress’ epic marble staircase, all dressed in white to join the love of her life in matrimony.

Finding my website and reaching out felt a bit like kismet as getting to know each other, Haile and I felt an instant bond over our love of adventure and our entrepreneur spirits!

For their engagement session, I drove up to Longview and met Haile and Kyler at the stunning Lake Sacajawea, and I had a blast while they showed me around and we found all the perfect spots for their portraits.

We swapped life stories and I got to hear all about Hailey and Kyler’s adventures raising foster kittens for the Humane Society. Together they have raised over 40 kittens and helped them to be raised in a healthy environment outside cages, how amazing are these two!?

After enjoying a surprisingly sunny spring day, we ended the evening sharing a meal of some delicious Sushi and one of Kyler and Haile’s favorites in Longview and as I took my leave of them that evening I felt anticipation for their amazing wedding day this July ramp up even more!

Enjoy this little selection of images from Kyler and Haile’s engagement session and leave a comment of congratulations for them in the comments below!
