Kate’s Top 5 Venue’s From 2021

When it comes to choosing a venue there are so many options! There’s a never ending list of ideas; indoor, outdoor, large, small, destination, local and the list goes on and on! People have found innumerable ways to turn any location into a great venue and that’s one of the great freedoms of wedding planning! You can take something and turn it into almost anything!

Over the years I have been to hundreds of venues, some of which stand out more than others! As we have now wrapped up 2021 I thought it would be a great time to reminisce about my favorite venues from this past year!

I’m going to cover what was great about each venue, why I’d recommend it, the types of weddings I’ve seen at these locations and finally share some photos of each venue for your viewing pleasure! Let’s dive right in!

#1 Jacquot vineyard

This is a beautiful venue with some awesome spaces!

What makes this place great is that it has a beautiful ceremony space with a stunning background of open fields and evergreen trees. Love this as it is perfect for our style and if the ceremony is at sunset it will provide a gorgeous glowy lighting. There are so many possibilities to get beautiful natural photos here!

I would highly recommend this venue for it’s wonderful scenery and unique photo opportunities. The grounds are stunning and the whole place has a unique rustic vibe, perfect for those who seek a country feel wedding. Best of all… It’s very affordable! As of writing this blog their price is $3900 which includes 2-hour rehearsal dinner and the venue from 9AM-11PM on the day of your wedding!

When I shot the wedding at this venue it was on a summer day and there was a medium sized guest list!

#2 Abernethy Center

If you're looking for a venue with options, you gotta check out this one!

This venue is full of beautiful spaces and better yet, it’s not just indoor or outdoor. They have multiple spaces for you to choose from! Looking for a literal chapel wedding? They’ve got it! How about a gazebo covered by lush greenery? Look no farther! Seriously, this place is a dream!

I would recommend this place not only because it’s great for the price, but also because they have an incredibly knowledgeable team with lots of experience and skill. Their team helps to ensure that the wedding goes as smoothly as possible! Pricing is dependent upon the event and thus they don’t offer one rate fits all, so you’ll have to inquire with them personally about the price for your wedding!

The weddings that we have shot there are generally summer ones with large energetic guest lists!

#3 Victorian Belle

Looking for a Victorian era wedding, as the venue name suggests, you have found the right spot!

Antique, gorgeous and large enough to be a mansion (which it is), this venue has a wonderful space for its guests! This historic old mansion provides a unique setting which is complimented by the white exterior, perfect for great photos!

My recommendations for this venue come from many areas. They, like the last venue, have a great team on hand ready to assist, they are affordable, and the space is perfect for bright and beautiful portraits!

With the venue being a mansion it doesn't particularly matter what season you get married in here. Most of the weddings I have shot here have been small family oriented ones and plenty of elopements!

#4 The Foundry at Oswego Pointe

Do you like to stand out? Want to host a wedding that few have done? You’ve come to the right place!

The Foundry at Oswego Pointe is not only a beautiful space, it hosts a unique ceremony space. How unique? Well you get married on a pier overlooking the river, so yeah, that’s pretty unique! Complementing the pier is their awesome outdoor reception space that hosts a bar! A great place to have a fun after party once the ceremony has been finished!

I would recommend this venue for the convenience more than anything else! With their reception space being so near the ceremony space you can host your wedding without ever leaving the property. They also have a great coordination team ready to help make sure the day goes off without a hitch and they boast one event a day which allows them to prioritize you! There is also a lovely park nearby for some amazing sunset photography!

My recent photography job there was during the summer, the guest list was medium sized but it was a perfect venue for the wedding! The lighting was great all over the venue for the entirety of the day and everyone had a great time!

#5 Langdon Farms

This venue is amazing! Bright, colorful, and full of opportunity!

Langdon Farms is a golf course by trade and a wedding venue by choice! They have multiple sites for both your reception and ceremony and host a huge golf course which is perfect for portraits! One of their most commonly used areas is the big red barn! It’s a perfect place to host an amazing reception!

This place gets my recommendation for, you guessed it, their team and grounds! Seriously though, they have a marvelous team there ready to help out and the grounds are simply amazing! The sunset photo opportunities are through the roof and I guarantee you’ll leave your wedding happy!

The wedding I shot here had a large guest list. I’d recommend it for a summer wedding as the grounds are wasted if it’s miserable outside!
