Logan + Mack

An Engagement Session in Lyle, WA

One of the standard things you come to expect as an engagement photographer is that most likely, the bride is going to be more enthousiastic about the engagement photos than the groom. With Mack and Logan however, Mack’s excitement matched Logan’s perfectly and by the end of the shoot he was actually taking the lead in suggestions of poses and amazing shots we could get which was so much fun and quite an unusual thing to come by!

Logan and Mack had their engagement session on Logan’s mother’s incredible estate in Lyle, WA. Their property not only is siuated in the picturesque hills of the countryside, but you also have both a view of Mount Hood and Mount Adams! Add to the mix their ten stunning and energetic horses and you’ve got a recipe for one incredible, memorable engagement session!

Pulling up the long road to their property, Gabby and I literally had our jaws dropping to the floor as we “oooh-ed and aaah-ed” at the stunning sunset view. Mack came and met us on his quad to make sure we found the right house, and Logan and her charismatic daughter greeted us effusivly.

Logan looked absolutely stunning in a soft pink dress whose silk fabric reflected the colors of the setting sun in a golden shimmer as it rippled in the wind.

Gabby and I picked a hilltop location with Mount Adams in the backround and immediately two of Logan and Mack’s horses trotted up to say hello. We shot some adorable family photos to start with and then transitioned to some solo engagement photos as Logan’s mom kindly took their daughter back to the house.

We had a blast exploring a portion of the property with Logan and Mack showing us their little wildflower patch and all of us thanking the lucky stars that we ended up with a sunny fairly warm day!

At the end of their shoot, Logan and Mack collected two mares they had sadddled up and Mack took over with amazing suggestions of great shots with the two of them and the horses. Gabby and I were both grinning ear to ear by the time the final sunrays were spreading the last of their color across the sky.

Gabby is the lucky photographer who will be back to this stunning property later this July for Logan and Mack’s wedding, so be on the lookout for more mountain views and stunning horsemanship from these two!
