Lydia + Pehr
Lydia and Pehr (pronounced “Pear”) wanted a fun way to capture their engagement and their love of nature so what better place than Hoyt Arboretum in Portland.
This engagement session was so fun and the perfect opportunity to learn about their love story.
These two met six years ago in college during their senior year just months shy of graduation. Lydia got to know Pehr a bit after they started working in the same building together and the feelings started to grow as they got to know each other more.
Pehr joked how Lydia was chasing after him by bringing him candy and by making excuses to hang out before she finally asked him out to coffee for their first date.
At the time, neither of them were looking for a relationship right before graduating college, but that notion quickly changed and they made it official.
After graduation, Pehr got a job in Portland while Lydia stayed near Salem, where her family is from. Lydia took a harvest job out in Dundee, Oregon where she worked long night shifts and the two maintained a long distance relationship despite only having dated for a few months.
Eventually Lydia got a job in Portland and the two decided to move in together. Just before the pandemic hit they got their dog Scout. It was a challenge navigating raising a puppy while transitioning to quarantine life and working from home. They laughed that if they got through 2020 and came out the other end wanting to get married, they knew they would make it through anything.
And we are so excited to be part of their wedding next October at Ainsworth House and Gardens.
