A Gorgeous Engagement Session at Rowena Crest, Oregon
What do you get when you have a groom-to-be with infectious laughter, a bride-to-be with the grace of a professional dancer, the perfect green dress, the high winds of the Columbia River Gorge and a classic summer sunset? Well just take a little stroll down to see the beautiful portraits of Kelsey and Andre’s engagement session out at Tom McCall Preserve!
Like most of our 2022 Kate Holt Photography Couples, the first time we actually got to meet Kelsey and Andre in person was at their e-shoot on May 19th. It was so wonderful to finally be able to laugh and talk in person after all the e-mails back and forth and zoom video chats!
Kelsey and Andre showed up ready for anything, which was good because the gorge winds were certainly present and blowing Kelsey’s beautiful red hair all over the place adding both an extra dimension of drama as well as a bit of a challenge for Andre as he dearly avoided the wind-whipped locks every time we had him snuggle in close.
Kelsey and Andre met through mutually friends after having gone to the same college but never actually meeting. Kelsey laughs about how she needed a little convincing from her friends to pursue Andre after their first date, and the consensus was that they would either end up hating each other or married because of how similar they were! Obviously the more happy outcome was the winner as Kelsey and Andre have their gorgeous Lake Oswego wedding set for August of next year!
Kelsey and Andre are foodies and love exploring new restaurants together. They’ve been dating for 4 years, but with their families living stares apart, their wedding will be the first time most of their family have met each other so there is quite a lot of excitement surrounding their big day!
Kelsey and Andre live up in Seattle, but fell in love with the scenery of the Columbia gorge and wanted to do their engagement session near Rowena Crest.
We spend the evening of their e-session hiding from the wind behind grassy hill next to the windy road leading up to the gorge overlook, and then strolled amid the fading spring blooms in the preserve. Kelsey had picked the perfect outfit combinations which included a dazzling green dress which lit up her bright eyes and a second outfit which paired a killer light-blue summer dress with cleverly included athletic shorts perfect for the windy sunset! Kelsey’s engagement ring is one of the most unique designs I’ve ever seen as well, and seeing it sparkle in the last rays of the golden light will be a memory I look back on with much fondness when I think of these two wonderful people.
