Emily + Tim

The union of Emily and Tim has been a long time coming. Dealing with rescheduling and replanning with changing pandemic restrictions, it was with much joy that June 6th 2021 came around and brought with it the long anticipated wedding day of this beautiful couple.

Emily and Tim are two of the nicest people you will ever meet, and their family and friends are equally as lovely. When I arrived at Langdon Farms, Tim met me outside the reception barn, killing time waiting for his groomsmen to arrive. Tim was gracious enough to jump on a golf cart and tour me around Langdon Farms, as this was my first time photographing at this gorgeous venue. We picked out the perfect spot for his and Emily’s First Look and Bridal Portraits and then zoomed back to the white house where Emily and the girls were hanging out upstairs.

Emily’s bridesmaids had the music playing and were putting together a slideshow to play during the reception. Emily was in the bridal suite having the final touches put on by her aesthetician from Blossom and Beauty. Emily wore her hair in a sleek and romantic updo that was set off with a jeweled band which added just the perfect amount of sparkle to her wedding-day look.

Snapping a few images of Emily’s shoes and gorgeous wedding dress, the groomsmen arrived and started getting their ties and pocket squares together as they assembled their attire. Emily and Tim had purchased custom drinkware for the groomsmen which reflected their unique characters and were very quickly filled with drinks to start the wedding day celebrations! Tim was all smiles as he donned his tie and the time to see his beautiful bride drew near.

Popping back up to the girls, Emily’s makeup was looking perfect, and we gathered her beautiful bridesmaids for a quick photo in their robes before Emily’s mom and sister helped her into her gown. As her laced backing was done up, there were tears all around and both Emily’s mother and sister were having a difficult time managing their emotions now that the full wedding day feels had arrived!

I gave Tim the signal to head out to the first look location and shortly after Emily and I followed. The sky had been threatening rain all morning, but when Emily started walking up to Tim the soft light which filtered through the overcast early summer sky kissed her shoulders, glowing and reflecting both her and Tim’s excitement that this moment had finally arrived.

As Tim turned to see Emily his face was a mixture of pure joy and overwhelming happiness. Normally a rather reserved person, Tim was surprised to find tears spilling from his eyes as he held his beautiful fiancee.

After sharing a few moments together we started in on Emily and Tim’s beautiful natural-light bridal portraits. They were game for anything, even snuggling together as the drooping branches of the willow next to the Langdon Farm’s lake tickled their shoulders.

After their bridal portraits we gathered the bridesmaids and started getting some beautiful images of these giggling girls. Our photo session was briefly interrupted by a spit of rain, but luckily the white house at Langdon Farms has a beautiful wrap-around porch that provided a perfect spot for portraits while at the same time providing protection from the Oregon showers.

After the bridesmaids photos were complete we had some fun adding in the boys and pretty soon the Langdon Farms coordinator Shannon came to check up on us and get the wedding party over to the ceremony space which was adorned with rose petals framing the aisle and an archway adorned with a giant and gorgeous floral arrangement.

Tim was escorted to the front of the ceremony space by his parents and Emily’s mother followed just after. The bridal party followed in pairs and as Emily and her father made their way through the green archway into the ceremony space, Tim’s face lit up in the most wonderful smile.

Emily and Tim’s ceremony was quite beautiful and included sealing letters for each other to read on their first anniversary. Emily had confided in me that both she and Tim were a bit nervous about their decision to read personal vows as part of their wedding ceremony, but shouldn’t have worried, as both sets of vows were the perfect combination of sweet, funny, and loving.

Tim sealed off their union with a kiss fit for a Hollywood film and as he and Emily made their way back down the aisle their smiles lit up the entirety of the Langdon Farms campus.

The luck which had held the rain at bay through the ceremony unfortunately took a little break during the reception, and for the family portraits we had to seek shelter beneath the eves of the Red Shed where Emily and Tim held their reception. Luckily the rain didn’t last too long however, and by the time the Pips Chai and Doughnut Truck was open for business there was even a beautiful rainbow that stretched across the sky!

Emily and Tim’s reception was DJ’d by the talented Aussie DJ who entertained the guests as they lines up for dinner by quizzing them on “Emily and Tim Facts” which were hilarious and entertaining to hear!

The toasts for the bride and groom were moving and erupted the reception hall in both laughter and tears as everyone enjoyed being together to celebrate the union of these two exceptional people.

Emily and Tim met online, and it was joked that Tim’s online profile was so scant that the only reason Emily considered meeting him for a date was because of his adorable dog that he had a photo of! Very quickly Emily and Tim’s relationship developed so that they were spending all their time together, and Emily even began training with Tim for marathons, something none of her friends ever would have thought would be something she was interested in!

Emily and Tim now live in Minnesota and traveled to Oregon for their wedding as they loved the quirkiness and natural beauty of Oregon.

Their wedding day was absolutely magical and as their reception celebrations continued on, they shared a first dance, daddy/daughter and mother/son dance as well as playing the “shoe game” and setting up both a bouquet and garter toss.

They opted for a sweet cake cutting as opposed to a “cake smash” and mingled around friends and family that had traveled from all over the country to congregate for this beautiful wedding.

As the evening drew near, the sun broke free of the overcast sky for just a few minutes and allowed us to slip out for ten minutes of glowing sunset portraits before Emily and Tim signed their marriage license and everything became legally official.

Dance music filled the night air as Emily, Tim, and all their family and friends took to the dance floor enjoying the festivities until a sparkler exit was held and the newlyweds made their grand exit.

It truly was a magical evening! Check out some of the highlights below and be sure to drop a note of congrats for Emily and Tim!
