Anna + Soren

Soren and Anna are two incredible people and it would be an understatement to say I was over-the-moon excited when Anna e-mailed me asking that I be their wedding photographer
Innitially meeting in pharmacy school, Anna and Soren have been together for 4 years, and the past two years have brought more change in their lives than some of us get in an entire lifetime! Anna and Soren have had several cross-country moves including an innitial move from Portland, OR to Ann Arbor, MI, and then back out west (and WAY north!) to the island town of Sitka, Alaska where they now work in the pharmacy Soren’s family own.
Lovers of board and video games, Anna and Soren enjoy quiet nights in where they can unwind from their busy careers and train their adorable Corgi named Q-Bone (yes, after the Pokemon!). Q-Bone is quite the character, and a big love bug! While out on his daily walks, he often runs right up to any tourist he can find, begging for extra love and pets!
When I asked Anna what was it that made Soren her ‘forever’ person, she lovingly said, "I've never met somebody who is as genuine and caring as he, or someone who will truly go the extra mile like he does. He has cared so much for me in a way unlike any other I've ever experienced."
Soren was equally as complimentary of Anna and told me, "I've always been impressed how thorough she is with everything she does. She always gives 150% and is so intelligent! Our humor is also very similar, we say the same stupid things together all the time!"
In addition to doteing on Q-Bone and surviving massive cross-country drives, Anna and Soren love traveling and have explored Eastern Europe together. They have a big bucket list of places they want to go and Anna has a map she’s made with pins marking the places they've been.
For their engagement session, I met up with then at Discovery Park in Seattle. Anna and Soren had literally just flown down from Alaska that day, and I was thoroughly impressed with how much energy they brought to their session, despite having gotten up at 4am that morning to catch their plane!
We were blessed by a gorgeous mildly sunny fall day in the PNW, and Anna with her flowing hair, and Soren with his eager smile made the shoot so incredibly enjoyable that our time together absolutely flew by!
Anna’s close friend also was along for the session, and her help and support made the evening feel relaxed and laid-back.
Anna and Soren will be celebrating their wedding at Lakeside Gardens next May and I can’t wait to see the beauty their big day will bring!
