A Sunrise Adventure Engagement Session At Diablo Lake, WA
Have you ever been to a location and had it take your breath away?
Did it leave you in complete awe at its beauty?
Left you in a state of wanting to adventure more and see even more of the beauty that this gorgeous planet has to offer?
If there ever was a place like this for me, it’s Diablo Lake in the North Cascades of the Pacific North West.

This location is definitely special but when you add in this gorgeous, infectiously-happy couple - Rachel and Mitchel - it’s taken to a whole new level!
Twice a year Dom and I choose a small handful of couples to go and explore for a free engagement session, the caveat is we have to go somewhere epic and it cannot be a local park!
Obviously, as you can see from these images, Rachel and Mitchel were 100% in for an adventure.
Not only did they travel to this special location for their engagement session but they were willing to wake up in the early hours of the morning to experience that surreal moment when the sun slowly advances over the horizon at sunrise and kisses the top of the mountain range, certainly the most beautiful moment of the day and one rarely experienced.
A little bit about these two lovebirds: they met in high school! Yes, they are high school sweethearts!
They both love to hike and as you would expect they got engaged while adventuring on a hike in the Pacific North West. It was one of the hottest days of the year, and Rachel was not expecting it but Mitchel surprised her midway through the hike and of course she said yes when he proposed!
They are getting married this September in a gorgeous rustic lodge in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. I am so excited for them and wish them all the best!
