5 Unique Ways to Style Your Groom

When it comes to choosing formal wear, most grooms go straight for the tried and true dark 3 piece. Colors usually don’t pop much with these classics, and while there’s nothing wrong with a nice dark navy or black colored suit, you would certainly be a fool to not consider your other options - there are a ton of them! Not to mention, as most couples choose their wedding for the summer season, an all-black or dark navy suit can get uncomfortable quickly! If the dark suit really speaks to you then go for it, however, consider offsetting your suit color with lighter shades of the same for your groomsmen!

Option #1

An excellent color alternative to the traditional dark three-piece would be this. A light tan suit, brown shoes and white button-down to compliment a neutral palette. This color combination is something rarely seen at a wedding (or anywhere in my experience), yet it still contains that wow factor that makes the guests at your wedding fall in love with the outfits! This will also be sooo much cooler for the guys if you are planning a midsummer wedding!

Option #2

How about we drop off the suit idea for this one! Let’s go with tan pants, brown suspenders, white button-down with long sleeves rolled up, and a bow tie to finish it all off! If you're planning your wedding for the heat of the year then never fear, this will keep your soon-to-be husband cool while still retaining a classy look!

Option #3

Okay, Let’s say that the dark suit caught your man's eye. There’s nothing wrong with wanting a little classic on your big day! Perhaps instead of going all the way and having all the guys wear black or dark suits you flip the tables a little. I’m talking lighter shades of the same color for the groomsmen or even vice versa.

Option #4

Okay, this might be my favorite suggestion yet. Classy, Mysterious and with a license to kill? Okay, maybe not that last bit, but certainly the first two! This time we’re going the tux route! White jacket, white button-down, black bowtie, slacks and shoes with a red pocket square. The only thing you’ll be missing is the car!

Option #5

For my final suggestion I will make the classic suit disappear! Tada! Oh wait, I haven’t told you what it is yet! We’re gonna go bold with dark red pants and suspenders, a white button-down with long sleeves rolled up, and to finish it off, a floral necktie. Combining the bold colored pants with a neutral top such as a white shirt is the key to pulling this off in a classy yet elegant look. Trust me, no one will see this coming!

And that’s it! Obviously, there are a million other styles and color combinations that can make your groom go from wow to WOW! Personally, I don’t have any issues with the classic dark suit look. But if you want your man to stand out on his big day, then maybe switch it up and live dangerously!
